Those "wrestling dogs and cats" vids can be very helpful to those interested in something other than perfection. I've gained personal pleasure as well as blogging interest in some of the lesser high tech videos produced by the non pro. They have their place, too. I guess I'm a bit prejudiced since I have a blog on dogs.

I was at UGTV 07 here in NY last night.

One of the panel discussions covered the professional/amateur discussions quite nicely - the ceo of www.heavy.com has called their content SPUG - Semi Professional User Generated

The calirfying comment of the evening though came from Shelly Palmer who stated whilst some content may 'look' better than others at teh end of the content can only be classed in two ways.....content made for commerce and revenue or commerce made for art and personal self pleasure.

Apart from that the 'value' is in the eye of the individual audience members.

Cheers,
Dean
