This book is a hit because so many people need to read it. I would wager that for every coder who reads it, he buys 3 to 5 copies for non-coders he works with or lives with.

Great book! I'm only on pg 100 but it's a great review of software development from Mythical Man Month to Brad Cox to dynamic typing debates. And the Chandler debacle is consoling reading for anyone who's been on a failed software project. If these top guys can screw up...then anyone can.

I realize now that because of the dogs involved, I might have better compared your experience to the Shackleton Expedition. But given that ended with them, you know, eating the dogs (although all hands survived), Gilligan's Island was a better choice.
