That is the worst paragraph of the year on so many levels. Straw men, slippery slopes and word play. Whatever! "...if we continue to have respectful conversations even about things we find ridiculous, this doesn't necessarily mean we've lost our convictions or our sanity." No, it just means we have abrogated our willingness to talk about what is real, and we have elevated meaningless gibberish to the level of rational discourse. We have simply abandoned our intellectual integrity and gone back to a pre-Enlightenment mindset for the sake of the ignorant. Hoorary for "Democratic values!" Oh, please.
